# I am on a medically sodium-restricted diet. Does inhaled salt count?

## Answer

Inhaled dry aerosol is not the same as eating a bag of chips. It is also not “zero sodium, ignore your diet.” Some clinicians prefer caution for people on a **medically sodium-restricted** diet or with unstable blood pressure. That caution is named here because it shows up in industry notes — not because this magazine ran your labs.

Ask the physician who put you on the restriction. If they shrug, you have your answer. If they say skip it, skip it. A cave is not worth arguing with the person managing your heart or kidneys.

We will not estimate milligrams for you. Anyone who does, from a brochure, is guessing.
