# Recent surgery or open wounds?

## Answer

Industry caution, not a HALO surgical protocol: **ask your surgeon or physician**, and tell the host.

Open wounds, unhealed incisions, and “I just got out” are reasons to wait. Salt is abrasive underfoot. Shared floors are still shared. A reclining hour is rest, not a recovery ward, and nobody here should pack a wound with cave salt as folk medicine.

If your clinician says walk slowly and sit quietly, a private cool room might be fine later. If they say keep it clean and dry and home, stay home.

When in doubt, later is kinder than early.
