# What should I wear to a salt session?

## Answer

Comfortable clothes you do not mind getting a light film of salt on. Loose and breathable beats dressy. Skip perfume, essential oils, and smoke-scented jackets — salt rooms are small, and scent is the fastest way to ruin someone else’s rest.

Many houses want **socks** on the salt (sometimes with disposable booties over them). Some allow clean bare feet. A few spa-style caves are bathing-suit comfortable because more skin is in the air; those are often **private** bookings. Robes, if offered, are a house amenity — ask ahead.

There is no magazine dress code. There is courtesy: you will recline, you may nap, you may walk salt crystals into your cuffs. Wear what lets you forget your outfit.
